As a general rule of thumb, a good photograph is one where you can see individual eyelashes. It's usually helpful to have additional photographs to use as references. I'm happy to work from poor quality photographs, but please keep in mind that I can't add more detail than can be seen in the photo.
A contract is emailed, mailed or faxed beforehand and a fifty percent deposit is necessary before work can begin. Photographs can be mailed or emailed; if I pick up the photo in person a contract can be signed at that time.
My standard portrait is an 18x24" head shot, painted over an acrylic underpainting and executed mainly with Holbein quick drying water-soluble oils on either Polyflax or linen canvas. Copper tacks are used.
I charge $800 for the portrait described above. Please contact me on pricing for additional figures in the same painting, and also for 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full body sized portraits.
Thanks,
Dan Lacey
